About Poetry in a Corner
Humanity has created languages with which we communicate a plethora of thoughts, ideas, purposes, emotions and a lot more. Poetry is one of those languages, but it too is spoken or written in many different forms and can evoke a wide variety of responses. Poems can be emotive, illustrative, provocative. In form and content they can be succinct, nuanced, expansive, maybe exclusive or inclusive and speak to issues, observations, intimacies, beauty, ugly, values, attitudes and beliefs. They are powerful in brevity. They are written from the heart and mind, are products of a creative process and woven with concepts and words.
For the reader, as with any good book, often it is best enjoyed one to one in the moment. What better place to read, absorb, build a relationship than in a special place, a corner in time and place, real or metaphorical.
This is poetry in a corner.
