Tangled
Tangled in today,
Shall not know tomorrow,
A lifetime away,
Around the next corner.
Thinking within a box,
No sense beyond,
Locked in human hubris,
Mired in here and now.
Wealth gained and habits formed,
Wheels spin, fragments fly,
Poisoned land, water, air,
Signing off in disbelief.
Wait until tomorrow,
No point to rush a cure,
Someone has it covered,
All just fine, as before.
Except for forgotten,
Those who cannot speak,
Caught within a system,
Exposed before storms.
But, then, all are tied
In a wagon going forth,
Bunched, alone together
Visions shuttered, closed.
Drivers have abandoned,
No one steers a course,
Desperation your companion,
In solitude, remote, remorse.
