Inspired by Truckers
I was going to write a short essay on this subject, but then realized I did not want to think long and hard about why the demonstrations were occurring when in the end the actions taken reflect values and attitudes of disrespect and selfishness. If truckers do not want to take the vaccine, that is their choice. My concern lies with everyone else who might come in contact with them. In the end is it really too much to ask for compliance to do a couple of things (vaccine and mask) to protect others? I must also ask are they so out of touch as to not be aware of the great efforts made by our health care system, the doctors, nurses and administrators to keep the virus and illness under control? Without them, truckers and everyone would be desperate for help. Is this just a case of “I don’t want to be told what to do.”?
